My full name is Abel Gómez Llana, but normally, I simply use Abel Gómez as a shorter version in my everyday life (see here a for an explanation).
I’m a senior researcher at the SOM Research Lab in the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute, and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications, both belonging to the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
Previously, I’ve hold different positions at the Universidad de Zaragoza, the École des Mines de Nantes & Inria, and the Universitat Politècnica de València.
I’m interested in the broad field of Model-driven Engineering (MDE), and my research is prominently practical. My research lines have evolved in two complementary directions: on the one hand, the development of core technologies to support MDE activities; and on the other hand, the application of MDE techniques to solve Software Engineering problems.
